Acoustic Acres is the newest chapter of Freelance Custom Productions (F.C.Productions) — an entertainment production company Drew Simenac has built over more than 25 years into one of Western Canada’s most experienced independent production teams.
Where It Started
Drew’s fascination with production started as a kid in Calgary, taking apart FM radios and walkie-talkies just to see how they worked. By 12 he was DJing at a local youth center; by 17 he’d bought his first portable stage and trailer. What started as a small AV supplier grew, over the next 25 years, into a full production company that has worked events ranging from 120 people to over 60,000.
25+ Years of Production Experience
Freelance Custom Productions has produced thousands of projects across live events, audio/video, and broadcast — stage setup, professional audio and lighting, talent booking, event coordination, marketing and market research, and full video production through our in-house video division (recording, live broadcasting, and post-production).
Notable Experience
Over the years, that production team has worked on festivals, municipal events, and productions including:
- Country Thunder Calgary (2017–2018, ~20,000 people)
- X-Fest (~30,000 people)
- Flood Aid (~40,000 people, aired on CBC)
- The Tragically Hip on the CMT stage at Shaw Millennium Park (televised)
- A decade of Town of Okotoks annual community events, grown from 1,500 to 20,000 attendees
- Government and municipal clients including the City of Calgary and the Government of Alberta
From Production to Destination
That same production expertise is what built Acoustic Acres: a 10-acre eco and agritourism destination in Two Hills County, about an hour east of Edmonton, and the mobile production services we bring to events across the region. Whichever way you experience us — visiting the venue or hiring us for your own event — you’re working with a team with over two decades of real production experience behind it.
